Fuel and MPG Tracker App

The MPG number on your dashboard is an estimate — and usually a generous one. FuelHawk calculates fuel efficiency the old-fashioned accurate way: divide the miles driven by the gallons you actually pumped. Log every fill-up, watch your rolling 30-day efficiency trend, and find out what your vehicle is truly getting between tanks. Works in MPG, KPL, or HPG — set per asset, converted automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is FuelHawk's MPG reading more accurate than my vehicle's dashboard?
Yes. Built-in vehicle fuel economy displays are often optimistic — they estimate consumption using sensor data rather than measuring what actually went into the tank. FuelHawk calculates MPG from real fill-up amounts and odometer readings, so the number reflects what your vehicle actually consumed between stops.
How does FuelHawk calculate MPG?
Each time you log a fill-up you enter the fuel amount and current odometer reading. FuelHawk divides the miles driven since the last fill-up by the gallons added to produce a fill-to-fill MPG figure. This method eliminates the guesswork built into dashboard estimates.
What is the rolling 30-day fuel efficiency?
The rolling 30-day view averages your fill-up data over the past month, smoothing out one-off trips or partial fills. It is a useful way to spot gradual efficiency changes — like a slow tire leak or a dirty air filter — that a single fill-up reading might hide.
What fuel units does FuelHawk support?
Units are set per asset. You can track your daily driver in Miles per Gallon (MPG), a metric vehicle in Kilometers per Liter (KPL), or a piece of equipment in Hours per Gallon (HPG). FuelHawk handles the conversions automatically across your entire fleet.
Can I see my full fuel history over time?
Yes. Every fill-up is stored with date, odometer, fuel amount, cost, and calculated efficiency. You can scroll back through the complete history for any asset at any time.
